We currently have an outstanding career opportunity for a Fire Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a P. Eng. and have at least 5+ years of experience in fire investigation, consulting, and failure analysis. This is a collaborative position that interacts with engineers, technicians, managers, clients and administrative staff. This position conducts hands-on failure analysis, planning and implementation of laboratory tests, and field investigations.

  • Investigates the origin and cause of fires and failures, damage or defects of various types of machinery, equipment and appliances, building electrical systems; automobiles and heavy equipment components and operations; as well as a wide array of other engineering experiences (e.g. failure analysis, building code familiarity, and systems testing);
  • Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports outlining the origin and cause of the damages to clients.
  • Establishes and maintains positive industry relationships with clients and prospective clients, competitors, and industry-related professionals (e.g., claims professionals, attorneys etc.) to gather business intelligence; share relevant findings and recommendations with internal constituents in the company’s interest.
  • Establishes trusted working relationship with clients in regional area and interacts socially at mixed engagements with clients.



Job Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Significant experience as a professional engineer is required.
  • 7+ years experience evaluating electrical/mechanical failures in a commercial or industrial setting preferred.
  • Power systems experience (generators, transformers, high voltage switchgear, etc.) and/or utility a plus.
  • Electro-mechanical experience preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in fire investigation, consulting, and failure analysis. 
  • Active Professional Engineering   (P. Eng.) license is required.
