We currently have an outstanding career opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with extensive Vehicle Accident Reconstruction experience. The ideal candidate would be a leader/mentor and will champion the Vehicle Accident Reconstruction practice across Canada and globally. Assisting with building, mentoring and leading a team and practice are essential components of this position. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience as a P. Eng. and have at least 5 years of experience in vehicle accident reconstruction consulting, and failure analysis. This is a collaborative position that interacts with engineers, technicians, managers, clients and administrative staff. This position conducts hands-on failure analysis, planning and implementation of laboratory tests, and field investigations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct vehicle accident investigations including vehicle inspections, analysis of event data recorders, surveying, analyzing vehicle speeds and orientations at impact, collision sequences, computer simulations/animations, occupant dynamics, perception/reaction times, visibility issues, and collision avoidance potential.
  • Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters outlining the analysis of the vehicle accident reconstruction to clients. 
  • Functions as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers as needed and learning from colleagues and supervisors, demonstrates initiative in the interest of the client and the organization.
  • Establishes trusted working relationship with clients in regional area and interacts socially at mixed engagements with clients.

 

Job Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • 10+ years of automotive or mechanical engineering experience, including field work.  Vehicular component knowledge is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Vehicular Accident Reconstruction and Failure Analysis.
  • Active Professional Engineering (P.Eng) license is required.
