Job Description

The Digital Forensic Technical Lead provides technical consulting services to the clients in the insurance and legal industries on insurance claims and legal matters involving information technology and digital forensics.  Responsibilities will include: performing evaluations of network intrusions/breaches, database threats, malware analysis, GPS forensics, cell tower forensics, equipment reviews, cost analysis, and computer forensics.

JOB DUTIES

  • Digital Forensic Examinations and Reporting: 50%

Conduct digital forensic examinations of digital media from a variety of sources.  Utilizes industry accepted forensic tools such as EnCae, FTK, Blacklight, Celebrite UFED, and more.  Performs site inspections and collects relevant technical and non-technical information.  Works with clients and insured’s legal counsel and technical staff to minimize exposer to risk and loss while defining and analyzing plans for risk mitigation.  Provides expert reporting and presentations of findings to clients. Provides expert testimony in depositions and trials as required. 

  • Regional Sales and Marketing: 30%

Regularly performs regional marketing events.  Strives to maintain high levels of internal and external client satisfaction.  Assists other analysts, consultants, engineers, or investigators with marketing efforts and matter related work on an as needed basis. 

  • Training and Mentoring: 10%

Schedules and performs meetings, training seminars, and workshops for clients, prospects, and employees as necessary.  Researches and documents new technologies and procedures for matter related work as well as training purposes.

  • Thought Leadership: 10%

Assists other analysts, consultants, engineers, or investigators generating written materials for inclusion in brochures, newsletters, and magazine articles.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

  • Functions as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers as needed and learning from colleagues and supervisors; supports the goals of the region, division, and organization; participates in special assignments and activities as required or approved; demonstrates initiative in the interest of Envista Forensics and its clients.

Maintains the confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information, exercising sound judgment and discretion in any disclosure of information related to Envista Forensics and its endeavors.
  • Adheres to all applicable State Insurance Regulation requirements and other applicable laws, regulations and standards; assumes personal responsibility for maintaining the requisite state license for state(s) assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field from and Accredited University
  • EnCE certification or extensive experience utilizing Encase is required.
  • Additional four (4) industry certifications of the employee’s choosing are required
  • 5+ years of practical experience in diagnosing security breaches, firewalls, network security or a related area
  • 5+ years of computer forensics and information security experience
  • 5+ years of software/hardware testing experience
  • Experience handling hard drive failure analysis, circuit failure or mechanical failure analysis is a plus
  • Experience with Software failures and data corruption
  • Experience working with law firms and insurance companies is a plus
