We currently have a unique opportunity available for a Practice Leader in our Marine group. The ideal fit will have a heavy technical background in marine engineering, experience in the claims industry and be capable of elevating Envista's growing marine practice in the U.S. 


  • Elevates marine practice by serving as a thought leader, marketing lead and industry expert.
  • Serves as the lead consultant on marine claims of all sizes, serves as a liaison between clients and other experts in-house.
  • Investigates the cause and origin of failures, damages or defects of all types of marine equipment and systems. 
  • Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters outlining the cause and origin of the damages to clients. Follows established policies, procedures, and processes in preparing information, exercising sound judgment in applying these to potentially unusual or complicated situations, and submit reports and documents in a timely manner and in accordance with client’s standards and expectations.
  • Collaborates with marketing and sales team to strategically align Envista with clients needs and executes marketing strategy.
  • Provides leadership on large, complex, high-visibility losses and serves as a project manager and principal consultant.
  • Establishes trusted working relationship with clients in regional area and interacts socially at mixed engagements with clients.
  • Collaborates with Global Director of Marine Practice to develop and execute Envista's international, multi-year, objectives for the development of the practice. 


Job Requirements

  • Experience in carrying out failure investigation as a consultant for the maritime insurance/legal sector
  • Professional Engineer license (PE) is preferred
  • Membership to a marine related learned society/association
  • Bachelors degree or greater in a marine related discipline
  • Good communicator and team player
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, business orientated and a dynamic thinker
