Job Summary:
The Senior Business Systems Analyst is a leadership role within our growing organization.  In this role you will have the opportunity to design systems, re-engineer processes, assist with acquisitions of other companies and integrate platforms with exposure to all key stakeholders and department leaders internationally. 


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Lead gathering and analyzing of internal business requirements by means of interviews, workflow analyses, observation and facilitated discussions with users and leaders for mid-sized to complex systems.
  • Create design documentation for systems based on technical requirements.  Interface with leadership to ensure understanding of risks in design decisions and to influence to ensure best possible choice based on business needs and technology constraints.
  • Work directly with development staff and external vendors to validate technical design decisions against high level system design requirements.
  • Manage external vendors as assigned in projects.  Work directly with existing vendors in current systems.
  • Take ownership of upkeep and oversight of specific systems or parts of systems within the enterprise.
  • Complete larger scale requirements validation through Kano Surveys, Delphi, or other techniques as deemed appropriate for the task and organization.
  • Work in a “business analyst” role within agile methodology continuous improvement efforts.  Serve as a liaison between Business Leadership and Staff and the IT Department Technical staff in Hybrid and Waterfall projects.
  • Assist Business Architect in IT Governance activities including steerage committee, area-specific governance groups and organizational change management.
  • Act as a change leader and change conduit within the broader organization.
  • Participate in project planning process.
  • Create test cases and test plans.  Review development work product for usability, experience, functionality, etc. to act as part of quality control of releases.
  • Independently lead mid-sized projects as assigned.  Assist in project leadership of large-scale initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of organizational systems and processes.  Act as internal consultant for business on questions and concerns regarding business systems and processes.
  • Proactively review and recommend process improvements throughout all areas of organization.  Recommend and lead/assist in process re-engineering efforts where necessary.
  • Interact, build relationships, and gain understanding of the perspective of staff from front lines to parent company C-Suite.
  • Build understanding of all organizational lines of business and typical customers.  Stay abreast of changes within organization and evolving business strategies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders throughout the organization.  Seek to influence others as appropriate and needed.
  • Maintain a perspective of international business to ensure all parts of the world the organization operates are considered in design decisions.
  • Act as a member of a broader team to recommend changes and improvements for internal department operations.
  • Mentor less experienced team members
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

Technical or specialized knowledge/skills

  • Experience in requirements analysis and elicitation, tying business cases to the system aspects and describing them formally as business requirements
  • Strong documentation and document management skills
  • Experience in Agile and Waterfall Project Management Environments or Hybrid Environments
  • Experience in Vendor Management.
  • Experience interfacing with development and other technical teams
  • Understanding of SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle)
  • Strong Experience in Managing and Configuring software through front end applications
  • Basic SQL Knowledge
  • Understanding of Accounting and Finance principles strongly desired
  • Experience in professional services organizations such as Consulting Services, Education Services, Healthcare, or similar style industries strongly desired
  • Contract negotiation skills desirable
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented programming desirable
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics product line (particularly CRM and GP) strongly desired
  • PMI-PMP, IIBA-CBAP or similar certifications desirable, but not required 

Non-Technical Skills

  • Experience using analytical skills, tools and techniques to investigate information and to draw conclusions Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) with specific ability to translate detailed technical details to non-technical audience.
  • Experience building communication pipelines with product owners, developers, quality assurance and other stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills
  • The ability to build lasting trust amongst a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at a time and meet deadlines for those projects.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
