Job Description

The primary duties of this position are to support the accounting functions for the Envista Forensics.  Responsibilities include: journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, analysis and special projects.  This position supports the company’s global operations. 

The staff accountant will be responsible for building key relationships with internal and external customers, as well as ensure compliance and drive department efficiencies. In addition, the staff accountant will participate on projects to support new company initiatives. Some of the responsibilities include, but not limited to:

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates actively in assuring the effectiveness of monthly reporting.
  • Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts including cash, prepaid, fixed assets, accrued expenses, intercompany reconciliation, payroll and other account reconciliations.
  • Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors.
  • Prepare accounting related journal entries and includes detailed supporting documentation.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors operations procedures and documentation of data flows as necessary.
  • Collaborate with controller on system implementation or upgrades, including but not necessarily limited to Great Plaines (ERP), Chrome River (AP processes), and OneSource (CPM).
  • Assume responsibility for filing annual reports, business property tax filings and various state and local tax filings.
  • Participate in the formulation of policy for the department, researching and recommending effective policies and procedures that represent best industry practice.  Identifies and addresses needs for improved work flow processes, including centralization, standardization, and automation of procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development as assigned or approved to assure knowledge and skills remain current and comprehensive.
  • Support company acquisition and integration activities including operational and financial activities.
  • Function as an effective member of the team, assisting co-workers as needed and learning from colleagues and supervisors; support the goals of the region, division, and organization; demonstrate initiative in the interest of Envista Forensics and its customers.
  • Uphold the values of Envista Forensics and the culture, consistently demonstrating professionalism, integrity and the highest standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct; conduct oneself in a manner that reflects favorably on the organization. Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive information, exercising sound judgment and discretion in any disclosure of information related to Envista Forensics and its endeavors.
  • Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
  • Three to five years of related experience including with international and multi-entity organizational structures preferred.

  • Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills. 
  • Highly organized and accountable to deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with staff, as well as middle and upper management.
  • Strong knowledge of personal computers, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and related software (Great Plains, Chrome River Expense, and Chrome River Invoicing).
  • Strong situational analysis and decision making abilities.
  • Willing to embrace change.
